Solutions to Common Problems

Problem: Neuz.exe does not exist. Alternatively: your antivirus complains about Neuz.exe; when you patch you get "Code: 0 Error: 9; you can't start the game; when you patch the game, you get a popup that says "Neuz.exe" or "Error Number: ### Neuz.exe Run error".
Solution: This is a known problem with flyff in general. Neuz.exe can be detected as a false-positive by some antivirus software. Simply add the Fly For Sky folder to your antivirus's exceptions list and run the launcher.

Problem: While dual-clienting (running 2 or more Fly For Skys at the same time), weird stuff and bugs occur.
Solution: If you want to dual client, I would recommend having two installations of Fly For Sky. Running one installation twice causes crashes very easily because one client is reading or writing one file, and the other client may need to read/write that same file. Visual glitches that only occur in "dual client mode" also happen this way.
Any glitch caused by running two copies of the same Neuz.exe is not a glitch I can fix. Therefore, having and running two separate installations of Fly For Sky (and thus two separate Neuz.exes) lets the game behave like normal.
For clarification about what I'm talking about, let's say you decide to install Fly For Sky at C:\Program Files\Fly For Sky. If you want to dual client, you should install Fly For Sky again at, for example purposes, C:\Program Files\Fly For Sky 2. Then run the game from C:\Program Files\Fly For Sky once and then run the game from C:\Program Files\Fly For Sky 2 once. And there you go; dual client mode, but without the crashing, bugs, and weird stuff.

Problem: When you try to log in to the game, you get an "Authentication Error" error message.
Solution: Close the game and run the patcher (Flyff.exe in the Fly For Sky folder). If this does not solve the problem, delete the following files from your Fly For Sky folder: Neuz.exe, data.res, dataSub1.res, dataSub2.res, and Flyff.a, and then run the patcher.
If this does not work, try resetting your router and/or modem if you have them.

Problem: You get an error where it says "buffer overrun detected".
Solution: Download the latest installer from the downloads page, and reinstall the game.

Problem: When you log onto the game, you crash instantly.
Solution: Download the latest installer from the downloads page, and reinstall the game. If this does not solve the issue, then contact me and I will resolve it.

Problem: You see a bunch of white boxes all over the screen, generally in towns with players.
Solution: Occasionally happens when dual-clienting. If you are dual-clienting, see the above issue related to dual-clienting for a resolution.
Otherwise, your installation messed up. Download the latest installer from the downloads page, and reinstall the game.

Problem: Some monsters are white.

Problem: You crash when you start the game, you crash often, or you crash when you teleport on Windows 8, 8.1, or Windows 10.
Solution: Go into your Fly For Sky folder, right click on Flyff.exe, click on Properties, and change the compatibility mode to Windows 7. Do the same for Neuz.exe.
If this does not solve the problem, then install the following:
DirectX 9.0c: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... x?id=34429
If you get an error installing DirectX 9.0c, then use this one: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloa ... aspx?id=35
After installing DirectX 9.0c, download and install .NET 3.5: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downloa ... aspx?id=21

Problem: On Windows 10, your mouse is uncontrollable and/or moves randomly.
Solution 1: Go into your Fly For Sky folder, right click on Flyff.exe, click on Properties, click on the Compatibility tab, and check "Disable display scaling on high DPI Settings". Do the same with Neuz.exe.
Solution 2: Go into your Fly For Sky folder, right click on Neuz.exe, click on Properties, click on the Compatibility tab, and check "Override high DPI scaling behavior". Then, in the drop down box below it labeled "Scaling performed by:", select the "Application" option.
Solution 3: Open up the Control Panel, click on Mouse, go to Pointer Options, and uncheck "Enhance pointer precision".

Problem: You've lost an item in your backpack.
Solution: All 3 backpack windows (Top, Middle, and Bottom) scroll up and down. Press the down arrows and you will see your items.

Problem: Your character is stuck in a weird location.
Solution: Log onto the stuck character, open the Motion menu (hotkey: o), and click on "Teleport to Nearest Town". You will always be able to use this.

Problem: You cannot move.
Solution: Equip your collector and press 'Start'. Stop collecting, and you can move around again.

Problem: The Event Monster Shop cooldown displays an extremely long time.
Solution: Make sure your computer's time is accurate. The website https://time.is tells you if your computer's time is incorrect.
If your computer's time is incorrect, make sure to synchronize it with an Internet time server. To do this, follow option one of this guide. For reference, the server is currently synchronized to the time.nist.gov server.

Problem: The Colosseum does not pop up with the box to start and/or the Colosseum displays inaccurate times.

Problem: When voting, you get the following error message: "Your IP keeps changing. As a protective measure, you have an extended vote cooldown. "
Solution: Try disabling DHCP in your router/modem. For specific instructions, google your router/modem and DHCP. If successful, you won't get that error message after voting a few more times. If not, or if you run into trouble, you may need to re-enable DHCP.

Problem: You have connection problems.
